The region: environment and hinterland
Vogelsang is situated in the centre of the Eifel National Park and is directly connected to the main road B 266. There are about 30 million people living within a two-hour radius, about 55 million people can reach the site within a four-hour trip.

Despite its picturesque situation in the heart of nature on top of a hill 480 metres above sea level, with views onto lake Urftsee, it's just about one hour by car to the next conurbations: to the north, you will find the transnational Euroregion Meuse-Rhine with the cities of Aachen (40 km), Liège (60 km) and Maastricht (60 km), as well as the wider area of Cologne-Düsseldorf (Cologne 50 km). And the Ruhr district, as well, is only about 150 km (Bochum) away.

This environment distinguishes itself by picturesque small towns and historic and world-famous objects of interest as well as by locations outstanding in science and economy.

European metropolises are only at a few hours distance:
- Luxembourg (120 km)
- Brussels (150 km)
- Amsterdam (230 km)
- Paris (350 km)
- London (470 km)
- Berlin (640 km).

South off Vogelsang, the Eifel region is stretching with its idyllically scattered towns and villages. From all over the vast region between Meuse and Rhine/Ruhr, people come here to recreate in this beautiful landscape. Various outdoor activities - from hiking to skiing in winter time - attract visitors of all ages. Every year, many tourists enjoy their stay at the different artificial lakes with their diversified recreation offers.
