100 hectares in the centre of the National Park
Vogelsang is forming the heart of the Eifel National Park, North Rhine-Westphalia’s first National Park, which is covering an area of 110 square kilometres.

The developed area of approx. 100 hectares of the former National Socialist "Ordensburg Vogelsang" is excluded from the national park regulation. The area is belonging to the Bundesanstalt für Immobilienaufgaben, BImA (Federal Institute for Real Estate), on behalf of which it is being exploited commercially by the Standortentwicklungsgesellschaft Vogelsang GmbH (SEV). It is designated and developed for civil after-use. 45 hectares of the entire development area are under monumental protection. While the main development road is a public road, the other roads and lanes will remain private.

So, located in the middle of the National Park, 26,000 square metres of effective area in buildings under monumental protection, as well as space for new buildings are inviting to invest. At the International Commercial Property Exposition, Expo Real 2008 in Munich, the development concept was able to attract wide interest. Currently, about 78 hectares are still available for private projects.
