In 2011, the „Nationalparkforstamt Eifel“ (Landesbetrieb Wald und Holz NRW), today located in Gemünd (Schleiden), will be relocated to the heritage-protected complex of buildings „Malakoff“. About 2,000 square metres of the net floor area of the then redeveloped and reconstructed former gate building of the „Ordensburg“ will be used.

Currently, a competition for investors is being prepared. It is looking for building contractors who are prepared to renovate the building for office use and subsequently let it to the National Park Administration.
